Web Server Requirements :
Your web server must support ASP (Active Server Pages) and
must support ADO (Active Data Objects) for Microsoft Access
Databases. In short, this includes all Microsoft web servers since
IIS 4.0 (released circa 1996).
Your web server or web hosting company must be willing to
grant read/write permission to a portion of your website to
accomodate file/picture uploads and database manipulation and
connectivity. Most web hosts will grant the appropriate
permissions without concern - and in some cases the process
may be automated by the host's "Control Panel". (Note: When we
say "write" permission, we should also include the permission
to delete and modify files.)
Your website must have access to an outgoing email (SMTP)
server. VRM can connect to the SMTP server via CDOSYS,
On IIS 6.0 web servers, you may need to "Enable Parent Paths"
for your website or make the necessary modifications in our
product's source code if your hosting company does not provide
your site this feature.
In brief, VRM will work on all Microsoft Web Servers. We have
carefully designed the application to be compatible with the
simplest configuration; VRM works perfectly on the "default
installation" of IIS (Internet Information Service) with only
one minor modification - "Write"permission.
Databases :
VRM ships with a Microsoft Access 2000 database and is
compatible with all versions of Microsoft Access since '97.
